What's a Neighborhood Council?

In short, it is the most local form of government.

What do they do?

Neighborhood Councils in Los Angeles serve as a bridge between local communities and City government. They bring together residents, workers, property owners, and other stakeholders to discuss local issues, support community projects, and advocate for improvements. Their goal is to encourage public participation, ensure city services meet local needs, and give neighborhoods a stronger voice in City decisions.

Each Neighborhood Council is a volunteer-based organization made up of elected board members who represent different stakeholder interests such as residents, business owners, and at-large community members. The council operates through various committees that focus on specific issues like public safety, transportation, land use, and community outreach. The best part is that anyone can get involved in their neighborhood council!
